No. The tinted shades blend in with a smooth, hydrating finish and no chalky white cast. There's a subtle lavender essential-oil note and none of the heavy "sunscreen" taste or smell people expect from lip SPF.
Rise and Shine are two sheer, flattering tints with the same 100% mineral SPF 20 protection underneath. Pick the finish you prefer for everyday wear β€” or grab both and switch between them.
Mineral (physical) SPF uses zinc oxide to sit on top of the skin and reflect UV rays, working immediately. Chemical SPF absorbs into the skin and converts UV into heat, and its filters (like oxybenzone, avobenzone, and octinoxate) can be more irritating and aren't reef-safe. For the thin, sensitive skin on your lips, a mineral formula tends to be gentler and starts protecting the second you apply it.
Like any SPF, reapply at least every 2 hours of sun exposure, and again after eating, drinking, swimming, or wiping your lips.
